If you want to use it, yes. Beta means the product is live and in active development: wording, layout, and features change, sometimes within a day. What it does not mean is that Pro is unavailable or provisional — it is the full product, billed monthly, and cancellable anytime through the paid period. The Free tier drafts real plans on the same engine, so the honest order is to try it there first and upgrade only if you run out of credits.

A complete journey costs 100 credits: design: 15; study: 15; analysis: 35; execution: 10; writeup: 10; code: 15. You see the price before each stage starts. Each requested regeneration has the same stage price. Viewing, manual editing, exporting and local calculators spend no credits.
Manual edits are free. AI-generated revisions use the price of each affected stage, confirmed before generation. Automatic corrections within the purchased stage are included.
Your saved work stays accessible. New AI work pauses until sufficient credits are available. The free trial does not renew. Pro credits renew on the first of each calendar month and do not roll over. Project Pack credits carry over and are used after included credits; buy another 150 for $19 when needed. Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains open. Existing Pro subscribers retain their legacy-equivalent allowance, shown in Account. A failed stage returns its reserved credits; a successful stage is charged even if you close the browser.
There is no separate trainee rate. The Free tier is available to everyone, and Pro is the same price for everyone. Institution-sponsored access is in development.
No — and be cautious of anyone who does. The plan strengthens your design and analysis and flags problems reviewers commonly raise, but funding and publication decisions rest with the sponsor, journal, and reviewers.
No. Think of it as an independent second opinion. Where your institution requires a statistician of record, a formal statistical analysis plan, or a biostatistics-core sign-off, those still apply — Ask Mallard complements them, it doesn't replace them.
Please don't send protected health information. Ask Mallard works from your de-identified study description — the design, the variables, and the analysis, not individual-level patient records. If your project involves PHI, keep it within your institution's approved systems.
